Canon USA chose me as the person to illustrate the features of their first "hybrid" digital single lens reflex (DSLR). The Canon 5D Mark II was a "game-changer." Introduced in late-2008, the 5DMKII, would become the defacto standard for high definition video creating a versatile tool for use in photojournalism and indie film-making. The Human Race

I was in Hanoi as a faculty member for a workshop designed for Vietnamese journalists. It was my first time to Vietnam and I was astonished by the amount of motorbikes on the road. In addition to the workshop, Canon Asia had asked me to stay an extra day to speak about the Canon 5D Mark II at a day-long seminar they were sponsoring. This short feature combined my personal interest with a mission - to have fresh material for the Canon event.
